Originating in ancient India, Mehendi is a temporary body decoration art, garnering immense popularity not only in India but also across the world, It is mostly seen as temporary body tattoo. At the young age of 20,this young and girl Neha Majumdar has come a long way in her chosen path and running her successful business ‘Mehendi Junction' using her skill she is passionate about.

How did you land in the field of Mehendi? From her early teen she was enthusiastically adorning hands of her family members and friends with mehendi in festivals and weddings. Later, during the college days, she did it for a client outside only for the pocket money and from then she aspire to be a mehendi designer. Now a days, she is doing bridal mehendi, mehendi for sangeet ceremony, body tattoos for several clients using mehendi as a part of fashion. Currently she is mentoring people in mehendi art across India.

What makes you stand out in the crowd? Making of the mehendi cone and paste is an important part, otherwise it can be a whole disastrous experience. She apply homemade, organic mehendi paste that gives you rich and dark stain and also safe for your skin. She also curate designs for clients according to their preference, character traits and theme of the occasion.

Where you want to take your art in the next five years? To publish an e-mehendi book and opening a parlour dedicated to mehendi are on the cards. To start career as a mehendi artist one requires very little investment so she wants to mentor rural women in this helping them to be financially independent.
