Modelling is a lucrative profession to be in. But like any other profession, it has its own requirements. A great face or a chiselled body is not enough to make a good model. Understanding the mood of the work is by far the most important thing in modelling. A model should know how to lend a character to the attire he dons and what a designer/ visualizer expects from him. It's much akin to acting. Attitude and body language should ooze the right emotion. It's not easy. Rehearsing before the mirror or consultation with a proper groomer could be of help.

Maintaining personal hygiene and a regular beauty regimen would ensure good health and good looks. A good model is expected to look great all the time. So, a disciplined and healthy lifestyle is important. A knowledge of makeup, light and camera angle would help one in striking the best pose without much ado.

Finally, we come to the most crucial part of the profession...professionalism. To be a successful model one should maintain a healthy personal relation and should respect the work ethics. Punctuality, confidentiality, cooperative spirit and choosing the correct projects surely help a model to curve a niche of his own.  And always remember be honest to your work and learn to wait for the right assignment to come your way.
